About Maurizio Pedrini
Maurizio Pedrini was born in 1968 and attended his home-city University of Zurich, where he obtained his masters in economics with specialisations in finance and monetary policy. He worked for a year as an assistant to a finance professor at Ecofin Research and Consulting, before joining UBS in 1992. Working his way up from fixed income analyst to head of bond investment research, Maurizio then transferred to a similar position at Credit Suisse in Zurich. Since 2009, he has held the position of co-head of global fixed income, and his fund management strategy concentrates on short- and medium-duration, investment-grade corporate bonds. Maurizio cites good credit markets with stable rising rates as the best environment for this strategy, and he uses swaps and futures to manage duration and credit risk. Further to his post at Credit Suisse, Maurizio is a member of the Swiss Association of Financial Analysts and Investment Managers, and a board member of the Swiss Bond Commission. Outside of fund management, he enjoys skiing, ice hockey and floorball.
