Cho-Yu Kooi was born in Singapore and attended the London School of Economics in 1990, where she studied Econometrics and Mathematical Economics. She has been in fund management for over 10 years and started her career with Union Bank of Switzerland where she was risk manager & control officer in 1993. After a couple of years, Cho-Yu joined DBS Asset Management, and later joined Lloyd George Management in 2001, and she currently manages the ASIEN Portfolio. Outside of fund management Cho-Yu lists golf, tennis and skiing as her main interests.

Objective

The investment objective of the Fund is to achieve long-term capital appreciation through investment, both direct and indirect, in a diversified portfolio of Asia ex-Japan Small and Mid Cap equity securities primarily through investment in equity securities of companies with a small or middle market capitalisation all of which will be domiciled or exercising the predominant part of their economic activities in the Asia ex-Japan region. The Fund will generally invest in stocks of companies with a market capitalisation of less than US$4 billion, with trading liquidity a key consideration.
